Train like an astronaut at NASA’s Space Camp, then explore Washington DC & Atlanta.
It is about as close as a student can get to being an astronaut without leaving Earth. At the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville — “Rocket City” — students train on real astronaut simulators, run missions from Mission Control, and stand beside an actual Saturn V Moon rocket, before discovering the science, history and culture of the American East Coast.
Huntsville, Alabama is home to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where the Saturn V that carried humans to the Moon was developed. Its U.S. Space & Rocket Center hosts the largest and oldest space camp in the world — attended by more than a million students from 100+ countries. The journey then continues to Atlanta and Washington DC, where the Georgia Aquarium, the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial and the museums of the National Mall turn history and science into first-hand experience.
Students train on G-force and mission simulators, work in astronaut crews with defined roles — commander, pilot, engineer — and solve problems together in real-time simulated missions, building STEM knowledge, teamwork and leadership under pressure. Studies show most campers leave with a markedly stronger interest in science careers.
