Kenya Exploration

Big-cat country — the Maasai Mara, the Great Rift Valley lakes and Kenya’s sweeping savannah.

Why this destination

Why Kenya Exploration?

Kenya is one of the world’s great living classrooms — a chance for students to witness the drama of the African savannah first-hand. From the big cats of the Maasai Mara to the flamingo-lined shores of the Rift Valley lakes, ecology, conservation and geography come alive on every game drive.

This journey runs from Nairobi across the Great Rift Valley to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, then on to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Students track lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra on open-vehicle safaris, meet the Maasai people in their village, and take a boat safari among the Rift Valley’s abundant birdlife and wildlife.

How it helps students learn

The trip is built around wildlife biology, ecosystems and conservation — from predator–prey behaviour in the Mara to the alkaline-lake ecology of Nakuru and Naivasha — alongside the geography of the Great Rift Valley and a genuine cultural exchange with the Maasai community.
